Project overview

Hangzhou West Station Ecological-Cultural Axis

The proposal reframes Hangzhou West Station as more than transport infrastructure. Inspired by the movement through a traditional shanshui scroll, a meandering ecological-cultural axis links the station to a sequence of water gardens, civic programs, wetlands, and urban rooms.

Pedestrian and subway concourses rise above the ground plane so that blue-green systems and habitat corridors remain continuous. This layered section allows regional mobility, local access, and ecological repair to coexist rather than compete for the same surface.
